About Us

The Sustainability In Action class offered at the University of Saskatchewan provides students enrolled in the class with a unique opportunity to go and make a difference in their local community based on their interests. The work done by Weed Warriors YXE stems from this concept. We are a collective group of individuals with a shared interest in invasive plant species in Saskatoon and surrounding communities.

Many people are unaware that these plants are non-native to the regions they invade and are detrimental to local ecosystems. Our goal is to educate people about these species by raising awareness of invasive plants, helping with plant identification, and providing solutions on what to grow and buy. We also introduce proper landscaping techniques to help prevent the spread of these plants.
